Basics of storing leather notebooks.
Storing leather notebooks requires attention to several key aspects that allow you to keep the product in perfect condition for a long time. Here are the main recommendations:

1. Avoid direct sunlight. Long exposure to the sun can lead to color fading and overdrying of the skin.  Store the product in a dark place or use protective covers.
2. Keep it dry. Moisture can cause mold and deformation of the leather. Make sure the storage area is dry and well ventilated.
3. Correct temperature. The optimal storage temperature is from 15 to 25 degrees Celsius. Avoid sudden temperature changes that can damage the material.
4. Do not overload the product. Too many pages or additional accessories can damage the cover. Store the notebook in a condition close to its original condition.
5. Use protective containers. Special boxes or covers will help protect the product from dust and mechanical damage. Use cardboard or wooden boxes for storage, as they provide protection from external factors. You can also use special storage covers: they will help prevent dust and mechanical damage.
6. Regularly check the condition. Periodically inspect the product for damage or signs of wear in order to take timely care measures.

Following these simple recommendations will help extend the life of your leather notebook and keep it looking good. Storing leather notebooks is the same as storing other genuine leather products, because the first priority is to keep them looking good.

Care.
How to prevent damage to leather covers.
Caring for leather notebooks is important for their durability and aesthetic appearance. Let's take a closer look at the basic recommendations for caring for a product made of genuine leather.

It is necessary to devote time to cleaning, as it helps to maintain their attractive appearance and extend their service life. Regularly wipe the product using a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt. Avoid rough materials to avoid scratching the leather. Also use special products for deep cleaning of leather. Apply them to the cloth, not directly to the product.
Regularly use leather conditioners to prevent drying and cracking. Apply the product evenly and let it soak in. Conditioning should be carried out every 3-6 months, depending on the storage conditions and use of the notebook. With frequent use and storage in a dry room, conditioning should be carried out more often.
To protect the leather product, keep the notebook away from water.  If it gets wet, gently blot it with a soft cloth and let it dry at room temperature. Also, keep the product away from direct sunlight to avoid color fading.
Also, treat damage in a timely manner. Small scratches can be carefully treated with special leather creams or wax products. To eliminate serious damage, it is better to contact professionals for restoration.
In conclusion, proper storage and care of leather notebooks is the key to their durability and maintaining an aesthetic appearance. Following the recommendations for cleaning, conditioning and organizing the space, you can extend the life of your favorite accessories. Take care of your leather notebooks so that they serve you for a long time and delight you with their magnificence!

Disposal:
1. Restoring the "marketable appearance"
Before throwing away, check if it is possible to restore the accessory. What can be done with an old item that has minor damage:
• Refresh the color (take it to a workshop, repaint it yourself). A specialist can easily restore minor damage to the base material, decorative coating.
• Replace the lining. The lining material is often thin and fragile. If the main part is strong, replacing the old lining will significantly extend the service life of the accessory.
• Sew up (cover) defects. Minor damage to the base material (scuffs, cracks, creases, holes) can be easily covered with decorative patches, embroidery.
• Replace the fittings. What to do with an item with a jammed lock, weak rivets, torn strap fasteners? If the rest of the item is in good condition, replacing the old fittings is justified. The cost of the work is significantly lower than buying a new one (especially a high-quality leather model).

2. Use for creativity
Old leather or textiles can become a material for creativity. What can be made from an unused accessory:
• Flowerpot, vase. If the model is large enough, durable, and can withstand significant weight, the accessory can be turned into an original vase for dried flowers, fresh flowers. The accessory can also be easily transformed into a cover for a regular flower pot. Before loading the soil and planting flowers, check that moisture does not leak out during watering, provide good drainage.
• Decorative elements. Old models made of bright, multi-colored materials can be used as parts of decorative compositions: wall panels, carpets, bedspreads, covers, frames, stands.
• Home organizer. A roomy, durable accessory can easily be transformed into a storage space for things. Remove excess fittings, treat damaged areas and think about what is convenient to store inside.

The list is not exhaustive - inspect the accessory and think about what you can remake the old thing into yourself.  The options for use depend on the material of sewing, availability (operability) of fittings, size, shape, etc.

3. Make an old accessory useful: hand over accessories for recycling.
If the old thing is objectively in poor condition (has foreign odors, large holes, has lost color, the lining is falling apart, the fittings are inoperative) and restoration seems impractical, the accessory should be disposed of. Even in such cases, throwing the accessory in the trash is not necessary.
The bag can be handed over to a special collection point. Such organizations accept items for recycling. Recycling has a positive effect on the environment, reduces the amount of garbage, and lowers disposal costs. In some cases, you can receive a small reward for handing over old things.
The list of accepted items depends on the specialization of the point, the built technological chains of recycling. For example, some organizations work only with textiles. Make sure in advance that the selected point accepts models from certain materials.
